The famous Ronaldinho smile returns to Camp Nou. The Brazilian cemented his new relationship with FC Barcelona as a Club ambassador this Thursday with an event that was celebrated at the President Suñol box at Camp Nou. Accompanied at all times by president Josep Maria Bartomeu as well as other Club directors and executives, Ronaldinho never lost his trademark grin for a single moment.

The former Barça player now becomes the Club’s representative and will attend events around the world in the name of FC Barcelona as well as forming part of the FC Barcelona Legends football team. Ronaldinho will also work with the FCBEscoles and the FC Barcelona Foundation in Unicef related areas.

Ronaldinho and FC Barcelona reach this latest agreement some 14 years after the Brazilian arrived at the Club as a player from French side Paris Saint-Germain. Ronnies arrival saw a turnaround in the team’s fortunes as he led the team to a Champions League title, two league titles and two Spanish Super Cups. Furthermore, he claimed the Ballon d’Or in 2005, establishing himself as the best player in the world at that time. He became a firm favourite with the Camp Nou crowd and the perfect guide to an emerging talent named Leo Messi.

“Since his arrival in 2003, we are all happier,” said president Bartomeu just moments after Ronaldinho had put pen to paper to make official his new role at the Club. Following that, the event continued before the media at the FC Barcelona museum where Ronaldinho revealed that he would be bringing his Ballon d’Or trophy to the museum, “where it belongs” according to the man himself.
