From the world of sports, the institutions represented include the MLS (Major League Soccer), the NBA, and La Liga. Among the specific teams represented were the New York Red Bulls (MLS), the New York Rangers (NHL), the New York Yankees (MLB) and the Brooklyn Nets (NBA).

FCB Universitas, Sport Innovation Hub is the vehicle through which the Club aims to project and share the knowledge created by FC Barcelona. Its mission is to create an internationally renowned Research and Development center for the generation and transmission of knowledge and innovation in the area of sport, collaborating with the best brands and most prestigious professionals. The key areas of application include medical services, performance, technology, team sports and social sciences.

In order to implement the project in the USA, FC Barcelona is collaborating with Georgetown University in Washington DC on the subject of leadership in football with the hope of offering attendees a platform to explore working opportunities in sports management. During the Symposium, academic staff from the Sports Industry area at Georgetown University will give sessions on various topics such as the application of analytics to football, broadcast journalism, sports revenue management, and the sale and sponsorship of digital media. The objective of these courses is to create synergies with the professionals at FC Barcelona as well as exploring possible future collaborations.

FCB Universitas is also working with the ISDE and Columbia University on a course on sports law. Furthermore, it is negotiating with other leading universities in order to develop new curriculums which will allow the program to keep fulfilling its mission.
