Javi Rodríguez finished his time with Barça Alusport in victorious fashion, with the LNFS title, his tenth title with Club. The Azulgrana captain arrived to FC Barcelona in the 2006/07 season when Barça were promoted to the top flight of Spanish futsal. He quickly became the Azulgrana leader as he took the team to total success and established an expectation of end-of-season silverware throughout his six seasons with the Catalan Club.

He’s one of the main reasons that Marc Carmona’s men are now the dominant force in European futsal. After his nine-year period with Playas Castellón, he decided to lead Barça Alusport’s ambitious project.

Two goals in his last match

The Barça captain bids farewell to the Azulgrana fans as the champion of the LNFS and after having scored two goals in the fifth and final match of the series against ElPozo Murcia. Besides the Liga, Rodríguez lifted three additional titles this year: the Spanish Cup, the Copa del Rey and the Club’s first UEFA Futsal Cup. Rodríguez closed out his last season with four unforgettable trophies.

10 titles with Barça Alusport

Rodríguez has worn Barça’s captain armband for six years. During this time he’s claimed 10 titles for Barça Alusport’s trophy cabinet. His title haul for the team includes two Spanish Cups, two King’s Cups, two Ligas, one UEFA Futsal Cup and three Catalonia Cups. The Barça captain has won everything on the club level and he’s lifted two World Cups and four European Championships for Spain.

There’s no question that Rodríguez has left a lasting mark on Barça’s futsal team.
