Barça Alusport and ElPozo Murcia will play their eighth match of the Liga against each other at the Palau Blaugrana since the Azulgranas were promoted to the División de Honor in 2006. In the seven previous matches at the Palau, Barça have a slightly superior record over the Murcia side. Barça have won three times (2006/07, 2009/10 and 2010/11), tied twice (2008/09 and 2011/12) and lost twice (2007/08 and 2009/10) against ElPozo.

2009/10 and 2010/11, two convincing victories

In the last two seasons, Barça Alusport managed to clinch victory over ElPozo by the largest margins at the Palau. The Azulgranas won by 4-1 and 6-1, respectively. This season, however, the match between the two sides in Barcelona ended in a five-all draw.

Favourable balance for Barça this season

This season, FC Barcelona Alusport also have the better record against ElPozo. Both teams have played against each other five times, Barça have won three (the first match of the playoffs, in the Copa del Rey and in the Super Cup) and tied twice (in the Liga).

Marc Carmona’s men are also in a similar situation to last year’s final when Barça, the Catalans finished first in the regular season and had home-court advantage, managed to win the title. The Azulgrana manager highlighted the fact that his team had won back home-court advantage after this week’s first Final series match.
