Leo Messi is having yet another great season, beating records and putting in great performances as per usual. In an interview with an TV station back in is home country, the Argentine star gave his personal thoughts on the current season. “The season is tough and I have to accept playing less. I understood the decision because in the season there are a lot of matches,” said the Barça number 10.

Furthermore, Leo Messi admits that age is an important factor when it comes to judging playing time. “The years take their toll and it takes it out on the body if you play every game. I understand it’s for the best.,” admitted the striker referring to starting on the bench at times this season as he did on Tuesday against Sporting CP in the Champions League.

Messi also touched on his objectives for the current season: “My priorities are team trophies. What I have won on an individual level is great, above all in the early years but now I am thinking about collective wins because I want to win more Champions League titles and a trophy with Argentina.”
