The U19A's have won 2-1 against a difficult opponent in Damm, who are fourth in the division and one of the highest scoring teams. The blaugranas came off the back of a 4-1 UEFA Youth League victory against Celtic and managed to win again extending their lead at the top of the table on 35 points.
Against a team that pressed high up the pitch, Gabri Garcia's team played a more direct game and they regularly created dangerous situations. In the 9th minute Barça had their first chance when Carles Pérez put a dangerous ball into the box which Abel Ruiz almost got on the end of. Garcia's players dominated possession and Damm attempted to win the ball back.
In the 26th minute a Carles Pérez left-footed shot alerted the away team's defence and five minutes later Barça took the lead. Abel Ruiz produced a powerful shot which the visiting goalkeeper did well to save but Mboula was there to turn home the rebound and open the scoring.
The goal lifted the home side who pushed on and Mboula almost grabbed a second but saw his effort saved by Juan Flere. Carles Pérez managed to double the lead with a well-placed shot leaving Barça in a strong position.
Damm reacted well in the second 45 minutes and were more prominent in attack. Adrià Recort made the most of an error from the blaugranas to assist David Acedo, who scored the first and only Damm goal on the day. The second clear opportunity for Roger García's men came in the 71st minute when César crossed and Caballé had an effort which the home defence managed to keep out.
The home side regained control and managed to keep Damm at arms length for the remainder of the game. In fact, they could have stretched the lead with a final chance that fell to Carles Pérez who saw his effort saved by Juan. With this victory, the U19A's remain top of Group 3 of the Honour Division and next week they face Nástic de Tarragona who are sixth in the table.
