Ivan Rakitic says he wants to play for FC Barcelona for 'many more years'
Barça's Croatian midfielder spoke at a prestigious awards ceremony on Monday night, when he was named the best team sportsman
“I want to stay at Barça for years to come.” Ivan Rakitic made his intentions clear when he collected the prize for the best team player at the Mundo Deportivo’s Grand Gala. “We are negotiating and I hope that it will be sorted out as soon as possible," highlighted the Croatian midfielder.
Rakitic also spoke about Luis Enrique saying, “I would like him to stay, he knows me well and he signed me. I am here because of him and I am very thankful.” On the subject of settling in at the Club, Barça’s number ‘4’ said: “When you arrive here you have to adapt, each player has their own way of playing. The three upfront are from another world and we enjoy watching them play, if the rest of us can help make them even better then we are happy to do so.”
