REACTIONS: Barça players agree, great result but nothing's decided yet

Luis Suárez, Ivan Rakitic, Sergi Roberto and André Gomes describe the very positive mood following the 2-1 victory at the Vicente Calderón

Following the 2-1 defeat of Atlético Madrid in Wednesday’s cup semi-final first leg, the Barça players were naturally a very happy lot indeed – although they were also keen to stress that a place in the final is by no means sorted yet.

Luis Suárez

“I’m very pleased with the win, but we had the chances to score at least one more goal in the first half.”

“You have to suffer if you want to reach the final, and this tie is anything but over.”

“It was important to get an away goal and we did that, but nothing is decided yet.”

Ivan Rakitic

“We generally did a good job. We deserved the win and we’re well placed for the second leg at home.”

“The team got into its rhythm nicely, and that’s not easy to do at this ground. We had a really good first half. We worked hard.”

Messi is the best player not just now but of all time.”

“I am really happy to be playing and really keen to stay here.”

Sergi Roberto

"It was a good result for us. But the return leg’s going to be very difficult.”

"Messi scored a great goal – he once again showed that he’s the best.”

"We had a really good first half, but we found it a lot harder to get the ball moving in the second. There are things we’re going to need to improve for the second leg.”

"A 2-1 win here is a great result. It was only normal for them to put us under pressure because this is their ground.”

André Gomes

"We try not to worry too much about refereeing matters.”

"The game at home is going to be difficult. But we’re ready for it and keen to win another cup.”
