The FC Barcelona defender, who suffered a serious ankle injury against Alavés two months ago, is making fine progress on the long road to recovery
Two months have passed since Aleix Vidal suffered a horrendous ankle injury in the final minutes of the 6-0 win at Alavés – counting him out of active duty for an expected five months.
His battle to regain fitness is going well and after working out in the gym for the last few weeks, on Friday he was back out on the Ciutat Esportiva training ground doing exercises on sand.
Indeed, Luis Enrique is keen to make sure that the defender feels part of the squad, and made a point of taking him on the trip to Turin midweek even though he had no chance of playing.
The injury couldn’t have come at a worse time for Vidal, who had been struggling to get a place in the starting eleven but had been widely praised in six appearances out of nine games, including goals against Las Palmas and Athletic Club.
