One such moment came in Barça's 2-6 win in El Clásico against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu, on May 2nd, 2009. He converted a cross from Xavi Hernández to put his side 1-2 in front, and celebrated by kissing the captain's armband.

A little over a year later, on July 7th, 2010, the same protagonists provided almost a carbon copy of the goal. This time, it was for Spain, in the 2010 World Cup semifinal against Germany. Fifteen minutes from time, Xavi sent in a corner and Puyol headed in, scoring the only goal of the game and taking his country through to the final.
