Ernesto Valverde has spoken about FC Barcelona’s latest signing, Ousmane Dembélé. The Barça coach hopes that the player “will give us plenty to be happy about” before adding that he is a player who brings “excitement and expectation.”
On the Champions League draw, which saw the blaugranes placed in group D alongside Juventus, Olympiacos and Sporting from Portugal, Valverde admitted that it would be a “difficult’ group with the team who knocked them out of the competition last season. Sporting, home of former blaugrana Jérémy Mathieu, were another dangerous side for the coach who also appeared excited at the thought of taking on one of his former teams in Olympiacos of Greece.
With regards to the game against Alavés, Valverde confirmed that Iniesta is fit again and that Luis Suárez is recovering from his knee problem quicker than was predicted. The game in Mendizorrotza, always a difficult ground according to the man who was brought in Vitoria, home to Alavés, will be vital as it comes before the first international break of the season.
