Jose Arnaiz scores in Barça debut

Three Barça B players saw minutes in Tuesday night's Copa del Rey opener, while two of them made debuts, and one even scored

A trio of FC Barcelona B players saw action on Tuesday night in the first team's 3–0 Copa del Rey last 32 win at Murcia.

Midfielder Carles Aleñà, who made his first team debut in the Copa del Rey last November, started against Murcia and played 76 minutes before being subbed out for Ivan Rakitic.

Jose Arnaiz, who had never played for the first team, also started, and scored Barça's third and final goal of the evening in the 56th minute.

"I couldn't have had a better debut," said Arnaiz. "I had no idea I was going to even start. I'll never forget it."

The 22-year-old Arnaiz left Valladolid to sign with Barça B this summer. It's safe to say he took advantage of his first opportunity.

Another Barça B player, the defender Marc Cucurella, entered the game in the 83rd, marking his first team debut as well.

"I was a little nervous," he said.
