Barça Femení are heading back to the Spotify Camp Nou. One month on from the sporting and symbolic triumph of 2 April, the women's football team are returning to their biggest stage, this time for a UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final.
The game will take place on 3 May at 4.30pm CET against FC Bayern Munich Women, in what promises to be a defining moment in the blaugranes’ European campaign.
FC Barcelona thus continues to demonstrate its commitment to women’s football. Not just on the pitch, but as a growing social force with the aim of remaining a benchmark both in Spain and across Europe.
After an outstanding run in the competition, Barça head into this semi-final with maximum ambition, intensity and responsibility, knowing that they are one of the leading sides in European football, but also aware of the threat posed by a side as strong as Bayern.
The team booked their place in the last four with an emphatic quarter-final victory over Real Madrid Femenino. After winning 6-2 in Madrid, the second leg is already part of club history. It marked not only the team’s return to Spotify Camp Nou, but also Alexia Putellas’ 500th appearance, a milestone that perfectly sums up her legacy of commitment and excellence.
Once again, the Barça faithful made the difference. The atmosphere, the noise, the backing from the stands and everything else drove the team on to 6-0 victory and into the semi-finals.
Now the club is calling on supporters to do it all over again: fill the stadium and turn the Spotify Camp Nou into a fortress for another huge European night.
Barça Femení are approaching this tie with the winning mentality that has defined them in recent years. Leaders on and off the pitch, their ambition to keep making history by lifting another European title remains as strong as ever.
The challenge is huge. So is the belief. With the fans behind them and the squad fully locked in, Barça are ready for another big European night at the Spotify Camp Nou.
