Barça 91-73 Zalgiris Kaunas: Second Euro win of the week

The Barça basketball team claimed their 15th win of the Euroleague season with a 91-73 victory over Zalgiris Kaunas at the Palau Blaugrana. Following the win against Greek side Olympiacos earlier in the week, the blaugranes registered another important result in the competition to move to second in the table with a 15-6 record. 

The blaugranes had the better of the game with 24 points from Dario Brizuela and 18 from Jabari Parker key in the win against the Lithuanians. 

Great start 

The game could not have started better for the home side as they took a 13-0 lead after five minutes of the first quarter. Roger Grimau's team were able to maintain that advantage until the end of the period with a 26-12 lead. 

In the second quarter Zalgiris came roaring back into the game with seven unanswered points. The Lithuanians turned it around in the second quarter and at one point took the lead at 32-30. However, Barça kept calm and a positive spell at the end of the half saw them move back in front at 44-37 at the break.  

Home victory 

In the second half Barça continued to dominate and soon they were 10 points ahead at 51-41. With just a quarter left Grimau's team led by 68-57. In the final quarter Brizuela's scoring took them to a 14 point lead at 80-66. With the game in the bag, coach Grimau gave minutes to the likes of Sarr and Jakucionis as the team closed out a 91-73 win.
