FC Barcelona Foundation and Banyoles Council extend the 'Barça Activa't' social and sporting programme

Agreement signed in Banyoles, coinciding with the FC Barcelona Board of Directors meeting, with three new roles appointed

The president of FC Barcelona and the Foundation, Joan Laporta, and the mayor of Banyoles, Miquel Noguer, today signed an extension to the collaboration agreement for the Barça Activa't social and sporting programme run by the Foundation and the city council. The signing coincided with the FC Barcelona Board of Directors meeting, held today Wednesday 15 February in the city of the province of Girona. They were also joined by the FC Barcelona Foundation director, Dr Marta Segú.

Barça Activa't aims to help to improve the lives of children and young people through sport and physical activity, particularly those in vulnerable situations. The programme is an example of the new holistic approach being promoted by the FC Barcelona Foundation in all its projects, impacting as many issues as possible among the complex social ecosystems across different communities.

Since 2008, over 600 children in the city of Banyoles have benefited from the FC Barcelona Foundation project, which forms part of the collaboration agreement with the Girona provincial government.

Three new roles appointed

The Board of Directors also approved the appointments of Jordi Llauradó as the new vice-president of the FC Barcelona Foundation, after previously being responsible for Espai Barça. Elena Fort, vice-president of the Club's Institutional Area, has now assumed responsibility for Espai Barça. Lastly, Joan Soler, the director responsible for youth football, has become the sixth member of the sporting commission including president Joan Laporta, Mateu Alemany, Jordi Cruyff and Enric Masip.
