FC Barcelona is collaborating with the 29th edition of SUNCINE, the International Environmental Film Festival, with a campaign called #GOLporelPLANETA (GOALforthePLANET) featuring men's and women's team footballers Marcos Alonso, Alexia Putellas, Carolina Graham-Hansen and Ingrid Engen. The event is taking place in Barcelona from November 2 to 8 and can be followed live in person, via the festival app or on local TV channel Betevé.

The main purpose of #GOLporelPLANETA is to bring sport and the environment together in the form of actions to raise public awareness. FC Barcelona and SUNCINE are looking to foster sport and a tool for combatting climate change, reducing waste by means of a circular economy, efficient water usage, and promoting greater equality and rights for all living beings on the planet. It also wants to encourage more environmentally-friendly action within the sports industry to reduce its carbon footprint.

The Barça players are appearing in a video in favour of the use of clean, natural energy resources, helping to bring an end to industrial and social injustice in the world, working for healthier, cleaner seas and forests, defending biodiversity and supporting all forms of inclusion. The goal is to bring about changes for the better at sports club and by extension, among society at large.

The 29th SUNCINE festival is happening just a few days before the start of the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, to be held from November 6 to 18 in Sharm El Sheikh (Egipto). FC Barcelona SUNCINE will thus be doing their part for the fight for a more sustainable world.
