Barça Women 5-1 Sevilla: Still untouchable

Another win, comeback included. Barça Women saw Sevilla take the lead against the run of play in the first half, but came out after the break to score five goals without reply to take another three points (5-1).

Barça Women had the first serious attempt on goal through a free-kick by Melanie Serrano that tested the away keeper, Sullastres, who stood firm. That set the tone for the rest of the first half, as she proved up to everything that Barça could throw at her.

It took Sevilla 27 minutes for their first chance, Gemma Font preventing the dangerous Payne from scoring. Pina had Barça's best effort, hitting the post, but despite dominating, they couldn't find a goal. Sevilla did, however, Payne moving across the penalty box before shooting across the goal into the far right corner to make it 0-1.

Quick turnaround

Barça came out after the break with real desire. It wasn't long before the pressure told, Pina bundling in a pass from the left from Mariona (1-1, min 58). Some serious firepower then came on in Alexia and Aitana, and it wasn't long before Oshoala made it 2-1, dinking it past Sullastres after a through ball.

Barça were now dominating both the game and the scoreline, and another goal soon came, this time by Alexia on 78 minutes after a 1-2 with Pina, which was also Barça's 200th goal in competitive matches this season.

The team were sensing more goals and Mariona scored after another cross from the left, this time by Alexia. There was still time for Jenni Hermoso to get in on the act, receiving (another) assist by Pina to make it 5-1 and now 28/28 wins in the league.
