Recommendations for attending the UWCL game at Camp Nou this Friday

FC Barcelona is expecting a massive crowd for the semi-final first leg, but to avoid problems entering the ground, is calling on fans to observe a series of instructions

FC Barcelona have a date with VFL Wolfsburg in the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final first leg at Camp Nou on Friday at 6.45pm CEST, and a huge crowd is expected to be at the stadium to support the team through the only obstacle that stands between them and a place in the final in Turin.

Very few tickets are left on sale and to make sure everything goes smoothly on the day, the club is issuing a series of recommendations to fans coming to the ground.

The quarter final against Real Madrid on March 30 attracted a world record attendance for a women’s football match of 91,553, but there were some problems at the gates and not everyone was able to get to their seat in time for kick-off. It is therefore important to bear all these different points in mind to avoid a repeat of those incidents.

Get there early and use public transport

The gates open at 5.15pm, and it is a good idea to get the stadium as early as possible. Not only will this avoid last-minute crowds, but there are a number of pre-game entertainments to keep fans amused in the build-up. The team will arrive at the Stadium about 5.10pm at Access 7.

Fans are advised to come on public transport. Metro lines 3, 5 and 9 all pass close to the Camp Nou, and you can get off at Collblanc, Badal, Zona Universitària, Palau Reial, Maria Cristina or Les Corts. If coming by car, please don’t drop passengers off outside the stadium gates.

You should also make sure you enter the stadium via the entrances marked on your ticket (accés, porta and boca). When entering the stadium and when reaching your allocated gate and zone, please have your ticket ready.

Once inside, please note that you must sit in the seat shown on your ticket. Standing is not permitted.

Extended into Sant Jordi

The club is repeating the success of the day the team played Real Madrid by organising a number of pre-game activities to ensure that this is not just about watching football, but is also a wonderful day out for everyone.

From 5.15pm, these activities include and Urban Skate Park with pro scooters and skateboarders, 3x3 basketball and futsal courts, an eSports zone with simracing, a Family Zone with face painting, women’s fussball, a panna court, and a snoorkball court, as well as live music performed by Tramma and Cooba.

But because the day after the game is the Catalan holiday of Sant Jordi, the activities will continue through to Saturday from 10.30am to 8.30pm, also for fans without match tickets, and will include Sant Jordi themed graffiti workshops and a Live Painting Graffiti Mural with local artists.

The venue will also be open on Sunday 24 from 10.30am to 5.00pm, after which it will close and then reopen from 7.30pm to 9.00pm, but only for supporters who have tickets for the men’s game with Rayo Vallecano that is being played that evening.
