Sergi Milà appointed as new Under-19s A coach

The coach moves up from his Under-16s A role to replace Franc Artiga

Sergi Milà has been appointed as new coach of the Barça Under-19s A team, replacing the departing Franc Artiga.

He moves up from his role as Under-16s A coach, and will be in the dugout for the league game against Atletico Villacarlos on Saturday at 12pm. The Under-19s A team are competing for the top spot in the league, with three games remaining in their calendar before the end of the first stage of the season.

Marc Serra will be promoted from the Under-16s B team to Under-16s A coach, with his vacated position taken by Pol Planas.

20 years with Barça youth teams

Sergi Milà has over 20 years of experience with youth teams at FC Barcelona. His first five campaigns were at Barça Escola, before coaching spells at the Under-10s B and A teams, Under-12s B and A teams, Under-14s B and A, and Under-16s B and A. He has won league titles in every division in which his sides have competed, and coached the likes of Álex Collado, Carles Aleñá, Óscar Mingueza, Oriol Busquets, Samper, Dani Olmo and Alejandro Balde.

Milà is reunited with several Under-19s A players whom he coached last year at Under-16s level, such as Pablo Páez Gavira ‘Gavi’, Ángel Alarcón, Ilias Akhomach and Diego Almeida.
