Not the greatest start for the U19A side in the UEFA Youth League as they went down to a 2-1 defeat in their first game of the UEFA Youth League. Víctor Valdes' side went ahead thanks to goal from Igor but in the second half Dortmund mounted a comeback to take all three points.
The game got off to the best possible start with Igor heading Barça ahead after just three minutes. Valdes' side took great confidence from the goal and more chances came with Nils and Konrad missing opportunities to make it 2-0. Orellana also had the second at his feet but his effort sailed over the bar meaning Barça went in at the break just 1-0 up in Germany.
In the second half Valdés made several changes but it was the Germans who struck first when Reyna took advantage of a loose ball in the Barça box to make it 1-1 on the hour mark. Just eight minutes later Raschl slotted home a penalty to put Dortmund in front.
Barça keeper Tenas prevented his side from falling further behind with a great save before Orellana almost put them back on level terms with an excellent effort from the edge of the box. A first defeat in the competition for the U19 side against an impressive opponent.
