FC Barcelona launches social profile on TikTok, the platform of choice for young people right now
Barça consolidate their leading position globally on social media by joining TikTok, a platform on which short videos can be shared on mobile devices
As part of its aim to create entertaining digital content, FC Barcelona opens an official account on TikTok (www.tiktok.com/@fcbarcelona ), the most important global platform available for mobile devices on which users share creative short videos. With a community of around 340 million followers on social media profiles and leader in interactions amongst football clubs around the world, Barça are backing a social media platform that is the fastest growing amongst young people.
Available in more than 150 markets and 75 languages, launching on TikTok is a strategic move in which FC Barcelona will have the chance to connect with their youngest fans around the world in an area that is growing constantly.
The stand out content on TikTok is the ‘challenges’ which go viral on a daily basis within the community. With the launch in mind, the club has worked in tandem with TikTok to produce an entertaining global challenge to publicise FC Barcelona’s arrival on the platform. First team players such as Dembélé, Aleñá and Todibo have all taken part in this particular challenge.
Coinciding with the Barça Summer Tour 2019, which begins this Saturday with the first team squad travelling to Japan and then later to the USA, the Barça profile on TikTok will take on an important role in terms of content. Being close to the players as well as events with local fans, training sessions and exclusive footage will give users a great opportunity to see more of the current La Liga champions.

TikTok allows people to create content directly on their smartphone and it has created a community of users who are able to share their passion and express themselves in a creative fashion via their videos. TikTok have offices in Beijing, Berlin, Jakarta, London, Los Angeles, Moscow, Mumbai, São Paulo, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo. In TikTok was one of the most downloaded applications in the world.
