Agreement in principle for departure of Erazem Lorbek

FC Barcelona is grateful to the Slovenian for his dedication and professionalism during his five years at the club

FC Barcelona and Erazem Lorbek have reached an agreement in principle to terminate the contract biding the player to the club for the forthcoming season.

After the Slovenian has defended the team colours so well for the last five seasons, the club would like to thank him for everything that he done and wish him all the best in his professional and personal future.

Lorbek joined Barça from CSKA Moscow in 2009 and helped the club to its second Euroleague title and several other major honours, including three Liga ACB trophies. He will especially be remembered for his MVP winning display in the ACB 2011/12 final series against Real Madrid.

Pleiss happy to be here

As one player leaves, another arrives. German centre Tibor Pleiss has been signed from Laboral Kutxa and speaking to Barça TV and fcbarcelona.cat he has said that “it fills me with joy to come to Barça, one of the best clubs in the world. It’s a big step forward in my career. I’ll give everything I can to Barça”.

He is confident of what he has to offer the team. “I am a shooter but also a passer” he explained. “In the last few years I have grown both in offence and defence … In Vitoria I received a lot of balls and that made me more experienced at offensive plays and made me a better player all round.

Pleiss also had words for a compatriot of his who is fondly remembered at the Palau Blaugrana, Patrick Femerling. “He’s from the previous generation” said the new FCB centre. “He helped me a lot when I was starting out with the national team and has always been there to support me with everything.”
