Messi, Mascherano and Argentina go for Copa América semi-finals

The Barça players face Colombia at 7.30pm ET after winning Group B

The Sausalito Stadium in the Chilean city of Viña del Mar will host the quarter-finals of the 2015 Copa América between Argentina and Colombia. Two FC Barcelona players in the competition, Leo Messi and Javier Mascherano, are looking to stamp their ticket for the semi-finals. The White and Sky Blue won Group B after beating Uruguay and Jamaica and drawing with Paraguay.

Both Messi and Mascherano have played every minute of the three games in the group stage. Messi scored a goal against Paraguay. The two players are the cornerstones Tata Martino's squad and both will likely start against Colombia. A win will have them face the winner of the Brazil-Paraguay match.

One of the attractions of the match against Colombia is the encounter between Leo Messi and Jose Pekerman, the current coach of Colombia who, in 2006, as coach of Argentina, called the Barça striker to play in his first World Cup.

Of the four Barça players that are currently in the Copa América, goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is already in the semi-finals after Chile beat Uruguay 1–0 in the first quarter-final match. Dani Alves and Brazil look to make the semi-finals when they face Paraguay on Saturday.
