FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid to wear shirt in support of refugees
The FCB Foundation is preparing a fund-rasing project in response to the refugee crisis in Europe, the details of which will be announced over the next few days
FC Barcelona, loyal as ever to its historic commitment to social and charity issues, which it channels through the FCB Foundation, is preparing a major fundraising project in support of Middle Eastern refugees from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries that are suffering as a result of different armed conflicts. The exact details of the campaign, which is being organised in association with the Red Cross, will be released over the next few days.
It all starts with an action being arranged for Saturday in conjunction with Atlético Madrid. When the teams emerge from the tunnel at the Vicente Calderón, they will both be wearing a shirt bearing a message of support (in Spanish and English) for the thousands of people who are in such desperate need of help. After the customary handshakes, the two teams will pose together in a picture that will raise awareness of the crisis among football supporters inside the stadium and watching on TV, as well as users of social networks all around the world.
