Barça will defend their title after topping the Islanders in the semis

FC Barcelona have qualified for their second consecutive Copa del Rey final after beating Iberostar Tenerife, 92-86 in the semifinals on Saturday night. Pau Ribas led Barça with 14 points

Barça went up 12-5 early, but Tenerife went on a 10-5 run to take the lead, with Barça eventually going ahead, 17-15 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Kyle Kuric made back to back threes to run Barça’s lead to 25-16, which they were able to maintain thanks to solid defense and a quick counter attack. Barça led by 12 points at halftime, 41-29.

Iberostar Tenerife tried to claw back, but Barça’s defense only got tougher, and allowed the Catalans to stretch their lead to 72-52 by the start of the fourth quarter. The visitors eventually came to within four points in the final stretch but couldn’t get any closer.

Barça Lassa will face Real Madrid in the final on Sunday at 7.30pm CET.
