Another victory and another step closer to the Liga F title. FC Barcelona ran out 6-0 winners in the local derby against Badalona Women to make it now 16 wins in a row and just one defeat in 25 games. Goals by Salma, Marta, Sydney, Brugts, María León and Fenger helped the team to the three points, who could be crowned league champions with a win in the next league fixture.

Salma scores the first

The blaugranes struck first after 18 minutes as Salma Paralluelo dispatched a penalty on a festive day at Estadi Johan Cruyff. The team may have been rotated, but the customary possession style was evident. More goals were proving hard to come by though due to the defensive approach by the visitors, whose closest effort from Banini was blocked by Sydney.

Two goals in a minute...

Marta Torrejón and Sydney Schertenleib scored two in quick succession after the break, the experienced defender finishing a Kika free kick before the talented young midfielder scored with a powerful, quality shot from the edge of the area.

...and then home and dry

FC Barcelona were playing with more zip in the second half and Esmee Brugts came up with a cheeky chip finish to crown their efforts, and it looked over for Badalona Women in this derby.

The 5-0 was also a thing of beauty, María León scoring directly from a corner. Then there was a nice moment for Fenger, as she scored on her debut for the blaugrana first team. A good day all round and Pere Romeu's side just keep on winning.

Barça are now just one win away from the Liga F title. And they could achieve it in another derby, away to Espanyol. That will have to wait for a few weeks though, as club football now takes a back seat due to the upcoming international break.
