Hammarby 0-3 Barça: Through to the quarters

Into the quarterfinals! Barça assured a Champions League quarterfinal place with this 0-3 win away to Hammarby in front of a packed Tele 2 Arena crowd. Pere Romeu's side scored through Pajor (2) in the first half, before an Aitana goal sealed the win in the second.

Brace for Pajor

A great start for the blaugranes as Pajor scored in the 6th minute, the Polish striker making the most of a defensive error to score across the keeper. This caused Hammarby to step up the pressing to go with their counter-attacking approach, stymieing the visitors' flow, but Cata Coll's goal didn't come under much threat.

Pere Romeu's side weren't at their best, but any doubts were dissipated when Mapi Leon swung in another superb corner and in came Pajor to push it into the net for her brace and fifth goal in the Champions League. 0-2 at half-time.

Aitana seals the win

Hammarby came out much more after the break, playing much more direct football, causing some concern for the blaugranes in defence for a period. However, they managed to weather the storm and Aitana put paid to any dream of a comeback for the lively home crowd.

The Catalan midfielder received a pass from Kika - who brought down and laid off the ball really well - before finishing past the keeper with a deflected shot. Not the most beautiful goal, but very important as it ensured that Barça were definitely into the quarterfinals with just a few minutes to go.

Only one more European group game left and what a game it is, as Manchester City visit for a match at the Estadi Olímpic Lluis Companys on 18 December, kick-off 6.45pm.
