FC Barcelona 7-0 Levante Las Planas: Record-breaking win
The FC Barcelona women just can't stop achieving amazing things. And today they not only blasted their way past local rivals Levante Las Planas but also achieved something that no top flight men's or women's team has ever done before. Fifty wins in a row!
Today's victory at the Estadi Johan Cruyff came courtesy of goals from Oshoala (3), Crnogorcevic (2), Vicky López and Mariona.
Year of the Rabbit
Just as the men did on Sunday at Spotify Camp Nou, the players came out with members of the Penya Blaugrana Dracs Units (the Chinese supporters club in the city) and with their names printed in Chinese letters in honour of Chinese New Year.
Trophy parade
The prologue to the game also included the team parading the recently conquered Spanish Super Cup trophy. And so to today's game, which had barely begun before Ana Crnogorcevic was heading in the opener.
Oshoala gave the assist for that one and scored the second herself. Barça were in full flow and the only surprise was that Crnogorcevic's 41st second goal to make it 3-0 was the only other one of the half.
Historically young
There were talking points all over this game, and yet another came when Vicky López became the youngest ever goalscorer for Barça Women at the tender age of just 16 years 5 months and 27 days. That historic moment was followed by Oshoala completing her hat-trick and Mariona closing a grand day's work with goal number seven.
The fiftieth win in a row for a team that is in full canter towards another league title. No points at all dropped so far this season!
