Barça Women are relentless. After the last Thursday's Champions League win against Koge (0-2), today saw yet another victory in Liga Iberdrola against Sporting Huelva (0-5). A resounding result to add another three points and continue unbeaten at the top of the table.
Goals on the agenda from the off
Barça dominated the ball from the outset, corralling their opponents in their own half, making several chances that just needing finishing. The deadlock was broken in the 28th minute when Mapi León attacked a corner, leading to a melee in the box, before the ball went in off Blanco for an own goal. The score remained 0-1 at the break despite several other chances.
Second half onslaught
The away side dominated the second half and all the pressure eventually paid off with a second goal, a real team move finished well in the area by the captain, Alexia Putellas, making it 0-2 in the 55th minute.
That goal only served to embolden Barça further, going on to score two goals in two minutes - Aitana and Irene Paredes - making it 0-4 by the 64th minute, with the game essentially in the bag. Aitana then scored again in the 76th minute to round off the 0-5 win.
This latest victory keeps Barça at the top of Liga Iberdrola with seven victories in seven games. Unstoppable so far.
