Ernesto Valverde: 'We leave with good sensations'

The blaugrana boss was positive about the US tour, the commitment shown and the young players but added that his team 'needs to learn from games like today'

After three games in the US, FC Barcelona have ended their tour with an undeserved 1-0 defeat against AC Milan. For coach Ernesto Valverde, Saturday’s game in the Levi’s Stadium in California was one “we dominated from start to finish,” their downfall being “we did not take our chances and we were surprised at the end.” The Barça coach, nevertheless, showed himself to be happy with the team’s performance as a whole, highlighting the commitment and pressure they imposed upon a solid, defensive unit such as AC Milan.

When asked about the performances of the B players, Valverde said: “We are happy with the way they responded in the game in which they played. The highlight has been their attitude and their reactions to difficult moments within the games.”

Finally, the boss had praise for the latest additions to the playing staff who were present on the US Tour. “We hoped that Lenglet, Arthur and Malcom could add something and on the tour we saw that,” Valverde concluded.
