Barça's second Whippany workout of the day is the team's last in the NY area
Heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms in the morning were accompanied by cooler temperatures throughout the day, as Barça wrapped up the New York leg of the summer tour

WHIPPANY, NEW JERSEY — And on the fifth day, the soccer gods said, "Let there be rain."
And there was rain.
After four days of energy-sapping sunshine, suffocating heat, and unbearable humidity in the New York metropolitan area, FC Barcelona was greeted at Monday morning's training session with noticeably cooler temperatures as the sky broke open and unleashed a torrent of precipitation for the better part of the workout.
The players also trained in an evening session that began at 6.30pm and was mostly dry but for a light spritz halfway through the workout—the team's final session in the New York leg of this summer's United States tour.
But despite the heavy rainfall earier in the day, the lower temperatures offered a welcome change from the sweltering conditions the team had worked out in since arriving here last week.
In the morning, before heading out to the pitch at the Red Bull Training Facility, full-back Jordi Alba spoke to the reporters who were on hand for the 9.30am workout, the first 15 minutes of which were open to the media.
The only member of the team who didn't take part was the goalkeeper Adrià Ortolá, who sat out both workouts with a stomachache.
The team flies to Washington D.C. on Tuesday morning, where manager Ernesto Valverde and his staff will continued working hard to get the players into prime physical shape for the long season ahead and its two remaining preseason matches in the International Champions Cup.
On Wednesday, July 26th, Barça faces Manchester United at FedExField in Landover, Maryland. Then, on Saturday, July 29th, Barça round out the 2017 summer tour in the United States with a match against Real Madrid at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
