Eight culers World Cup winners
The Barça players Joan Garcia, Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsí, Gavi, Pedri, Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal are World Cup winners. A goal from Ferran Torres in the second half of extra time was enough to defeat Leo Messi's Argentina in the final in the New York New Jersey stadium on Sunday.
Three blaugranes in the starting line up
In the final blaugranes Dani Olmo, Lamine Yamal and Pau Caubarsí were in the starting XI for Spain. Pedri and Ferran came on in the second half of normal time for the World Cup winners and Eric Garcia made his debut in the tournament in extrai time, coming on to replace Aymeric Laporte. Ferran's appearance was crucial as he scored the winner on 106 minutes, firing home a lay off from fellow substitute Nico Williams.
The eight blaugranes now form part of a list of 20 players who have won the World Cup being Barça players. Romário in 1994; Rivaldo in 2002; Valdés, Piqué, Puyol, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro and Villa in 2010; Umtiti and Dembélé, el 2018; and now Joan Garcia, Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsí, Gavi, Pedri, Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal in 2026.
