More culers into the World Cup round of 32. Spain’s Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Cubarsí, Olmo, Ferran, Joan Garcia, Eric and Gavi, along with Hamza Abdelkarim’s Egypt, have followed in the footsteps of Kounde, Raphinha and Frenkie de Jong. For now, these 12 Barça players continue their World Cup adventure in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Araujo, however, will not be able to extend his journey after being eliminated by Spain.

Spain, who edged out Uruguay by the narrowest of margins, and Egypt, who drew with Iran, have both secured their places in the next round. Also guaranteed a place in the last 32 are Anthony Gordon and Marcus Rashford's England and João Cancelo's Portugal as results so far in the final round of matches mean both teams are guaranteed of best third place finish at the very least in the group stage ahead of their respective final games. 

Spain sealed qualification as group winners. After putting behind them a shaky start with a draw against Cape Verde, who have also qualified, they produced a solid campaign that allows them to continue in the tournament. Luis de la Fuente's side secured top spot thanks to victories over Saudi Arabia and Uruguay. Their round-of-32 opponents are not yet confirmed, but all signs point to Austria, runners-up in Group J.

Egypt v Australia in round of 32

Egypt are also celebrating qualification, having been one of the teams to make a positive impression at the start of the World Cup. The African side did enough to guarantee a place in the round of 32 by finishing second in their group. Goal difference with Belgium, who ended level on points, prevented them from taking top spot. Hamza Abdelkarim's side completed the group stage with two draws and a win and already know they will face Australia in the round of 32.
