The challenges keep coming for FC Barcelona as an intense February is followed by a number of key matches in March with the Copa del Rey semi-final return leg, the first knockout round in the Champions League and three LaLiga gameweeks all to play before the international break. A significant stretch of the season with some matches make or break regarding progress in the relevant competition.

Looking for a Copa del Rey turnaround

The first big challenge will soon be here. Barça will host Atlético Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou on 3 March (kick-off 9pm CET) for the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg. The 4-0 in the first leg means Hansi Flick's side will need to complete a comeback for the ages, but with the fans behind them, they can use the Stadium as a fortress to reach the big final on 18 April.

Champions League returns

Just a week later, the blaugranes will have another cup competition to navigate as the Champions League returns for the round of 16. The first leg against Newcastle United at St James' Park is on 10 March (kick-off 9pm CET), a proverbial difficult place to go given the atmosphere generated by the home fans. The return leg is at the Spotify Camp Nou the following week on 18 March (kick-off 6.45pm CET), where the team will be looking to make the most of the second leg being at home to seal a place in the quarterfinals.

LaLiga rolls on

While the cup competitions move towards their climax, so does LaLiga. On 7 March (kick-off 9pm CET), the blaugranes travel to the San Mamés stadium to take on Athletic Club for the gameweek 27 fixture. Then on 15 March (kick-off 4.15pm CET), Barça are set to host Sevilla FC at the Spotify Camp Nou on matchday 28, also a special day for the Club as the election for the president will take place. Lastly, there will be another league fixture at home in front of the fans against Rayo Vallecano on 22 March (kick-off 2pm CET), before the club calendar pauses for the international break on the weekend of 28/29 March.

With the Copa del Rey in the balance, a tough knockout round in Europe, and the need to avoid slip-ups in LaLiga, Barça are fighting on all fronts in March, which could prove decisive regarding the targets for the season.
