Confirmation has come through. Pedri and Lamine Yamal have been included in the men's football best eleven of 2025 based on the annual award from the FIFPRO organisation, recognising them as two of the best players from the 2024/25 season.
Over 20,000 footballers worldwide cast their votes based on performances from 15 July 2024 through to 3 August 2025. A minimum of 30 appearances were needed to be considered, a condition both players fulfilled comfortably.
Pedri, everpresent
When it comes to Pedro González ‘Pedri’, the Canary Islander made 59 appearances last season. He actually only missed one game, placing him second for most minutes on the pitch for the blaugranes. The midfielder scored six times and provided eight assists, and was key to achieving the treble of the LaLiga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
Lamine Yamal continues progression
The Catalan also had a vital role for Hansi Flick. Lamine Yamal made 55 appearances, scoring 18 goals and providing 21 assists. He was also the player to have completed the most dribbles across the five major leagues with 244. Testament to his attacking and daring approach to the game despite still being a young player.
Barça strongly represented in this award
So after a superb 2024/25 season, FC Barcelona has two players in the Fédération Internationale des Associations de Footballeurs Professionnels best eleven of the year. Since 2005 when the FIFPRO World XI was first created, 57 Barça players have been recognised this way, placing the Club second on the list for most players included in the history of the award.
