Xavi Hernández was more than happy with the win on Saturday at Mendizorroza, describing "the importance of the reaction and such a positive result."
Taking chances
"We have been struggling to take chances this season" said the FC Barcelona coach. "But at last the team was effective today. Lewandowski's goal strengthened the team and from then on we played well both on and off the ball."
But there were still things he felt could be improved. "The team acted maturely and competed the right way" he said, "but we still conceded the kind of goal that could easily be prevented with a foul just before"
Concentrated
One player particularly impressed, with the manager saying that "Lamine is only 17 years old, but he has exceptional humility and talent."
He also had prise for the way Christensen coped with a new position: "Andreas looked very comfortable and showed aggression. Being a defender, he brought order to the midfield and that's what we've been missing lately. He is another option for us in the middle."
And as for Vitor Roque, who he congratulated on scoring another goal, "we'll be appealing against the red card because it was clearly the wrong decision."
