FC Barcelona back at Montjuïc... 38 days later

It's more than a month since the last game at the Estadi Olimpic

This Saturday at 6.30pm CET, FC Barcelona entertain Villarreal at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. It's been 38 days since the last home fixture, after the team went to the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, played away from home in all three rounds of the Copa del Rey, travelled for two league fixtures at Las Palmas and Real Betis, and also went to Las Vegas to play a friendly with Club America.

That's eight games that Barça have played since beating Almeria 3-2 on December 20. Christmas, New Year and almost all of January have all passed by without FC Barcelona having a single game in front of their home crowd...

And they are going to need the fans' support more than ever. Since the last home fixture, two potential trophies, the Super Cup and the Copa del Rey, have both gone out the window. And there's some catching up to be done in the league, starting this Saturday against Villarreal, and the Wednesday immediately after there's the game with Osasuna that was postponed due to both teams being away for the Super Cup.

First time for Vitor Roque

Winter arrival Vitor Roque has yet to play in his new home stadium, despite having been in the city for a whole month since December 27, and making his debut back on January 4 against Las Palmas, the day before his official presentation. Now, at long last, he can get to know his supporters in person.

Come to Barça Fest!

In the build-up to the game with Villarreal, home fans can get into the mood by stopping by at the Barça Fest. From four hours before the game, the Poble Espanyol, a 15 minute walk from the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, is hosting a combination of music (with concerts and DJs), entertainment, top cuisine and fun activities for all ages and tastes.
