The breakdown of 400 games

Wins: 274

Defeats: 56

La Liga: 270
Champions League: 74
Copa del Rey: 43
Spanish Super Cuip: 11
World Clubs Cup: 2

Among the legends

Although he was a product of the Masia youth system, he’d then go on to Cornellà, Tarragona and Valencia before returning to Barça in 2012, and in almost a decade since then he has made the left-wing his own. Each of his managers from Tito Vilanova to Xavi Hernández have viewed him as an automatic starter.

He’s only the fifteenth player to reach the milestone of 400 games, and there are several players that he has ‘in his sights’ that he could well surpass this season to go into the top ten:

Rifé (402)
Alexanko (403)
Segarra (404)
Zubizarreta (410)
Amor (421)

King of assists

Alba is, of course, primarily a defender, but he is also renowned for his contribution to the attack, and forged a spectacular relationship with Leo Messi over the years.

He gave Messi more assists than any other player (23) and it was the Argentinian who laid up the largest number of Alba’s goals of his own (8).

After Messi, the players who scored most of Alba assists were Luis Suárez (20) and Antoine Griezmann (6).

And it’s continued this season, with five assist already provided by Jordi Alba in the present campaign.
