Eric Garcia says Barça prepared 'physically and mentally'

The blaugrana defender speaks to the press ahead of the vital Champions League game against Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine

On Tuesday FC Barcelon face a crucial Champions League game against Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine. The players are well aware of the importance of the Match Day four fixture as Eric Garcia made clear in his appearance before the press ahead of the game on Tuesday: "This game is so important because if we win then our fate is in our own hands once more."

Nevertheless, the Catalan defender admitted it would not be easy: "We all know how difficult it will be due to the trip and the weather. At home they made life tricky for us and away will be no different. Nevertheless, the team is ready mentally and physically."

The squad sees some important names return after injury as Eric Garcia pointed out himself. "Frenkie (De Jong) and Ronald (Araujo) are key players for us and Ansu and Ousmane (Dembélè) are players who can win games. It's great news they are back," added the defender.

More comments from Eric Garcia ahead of Dynamo Kyiv v Barça:

His first few months at Barça

"When I took the decision to come here I was sure and that has not changed. We have a great team and even though results are not what we could like, there is still a long way to go in the season. We have a competitive team."

"Lately I am feeling good, confident and more comfortable. I want to keep helping the team."

"I am the first to be self-critical and I know I have to improve...I know there have been games when I could have done better but I have been working on improving for a while. I just hope I can be at Barça for a long time and help the team as best I can."

The team's form

"Sergi is helping the team. He has to make us stronger - we have had results that have gone against us but I am sure that with some changes from the coach that if we get some good results then we will grow as a team."

"The team is in good shape mentally even though it's not the best time. We are motivated and we want to turn things around. We will get out of this."
