Future star of Portuguese football

Francisco Trincão is in his first season at Barça after his move from SC Braga. He was born in the town of Viana do Castelo with a population of 90,000 a little more than an hour south of the Spanish city of Vigo and he is the ninth Portuguese player in Barça history.

He was part of the European Championship winning Portugal U19 squad, top scoring in the competition with five goals. At 21 years of age he has already made his debut for the full national side.

Trincão can play anywhere up front but usually operates as a winger. He is quick, likes to take players on and has that element of surprise.

He likes shooting from distance as he has shown this season in his 36 appearances for Ronald Koeman's team.

His first official goal for Barça came on 7 February against Betis, getting the winner in the 3-2 victory away from home.

That was not the only goal he has scored this season in a Barça shirt as he also scored a brace in the league game against Alavés.
