Ter Stegen: Berlin was a magic moment

Barça keeper takes part in Q&A session on the Cupra Instagram, with some great questions from fans and some even better answers!

Marc Andre Ter Stegen has certainly been keeping us informed while he’s in lockdown. After a Q&A session on Twitter and a Live Chat with the club, the German keeper was on Cupra’s Instagram today to answer questions from fans around the world. Here are some of our favourite comments:

Lockdown

"We all have to bring out our best to make the situation better. We need to be patient"

"When you have so much freedom you don’t appreciate things. This lockdown has taught me to appreciate what’s simple but essential: being at home, being with the family, cooking…”

Personal tastes

"One of my favourite dishes is bread and tomato. It’s very simple but it’s really good”

"I love films with Will Smith in"

"I like Lukas Graham’s songs a lot. I listen to them while I’m in the car, because I like to listen to relaxing music while I’m driving."

"As for cars, I like the Leon a lot and also the different style of the Formentor"

"I’m watching Money Heist again with my wife. She hadn’t seen it before. It’s incredible."

Role model

"My wife inspires me a lot. Because she always puts so much passion into everything she does”

Perfectionist

"I’d define myself as a perfectionist. In fact, it’s the adjective I most use when I have to describe myself."

A great day

"Getting up when you feel like it, after getting my little boy ready. He keeps us very busy. A nice coffee with breakfast, doing sport, have lunch, spend time with the family, watch a series like Money Heist when the kid goes to sleep."

Passion for coffee

"I haven’t made coffee for my team-mates yet. But I’m not that impressed by the machine that we have at the Ciutat Esportiva"

"Once of my favourite parts of Barcelona is Gràcia. Because there are so many places to have a nice coffee."

Memorable matches

"The Champions League Final in Berlin was one of the most magical moments I have ever experienced as a footballer."

"My debut as a professional, for Mönchengladbach against Köln, was one of the best games I’ve experienced. It was incredible, unique. And El Clásico is something unique too. But whenever I am on the pitch, whatever the game, I enjoy playing."

Advice for goalies

"Everyone knows how to train, but the important thing is to have fun on the pitch. To enjoy what you do. And you always have to try to go further; never conform to what you’ve got."

Training

"You have to keep fit during lockdown, and set an exercise routine. But it is also important to get some rest some days. I do a lot of my exercising using an app called Freeletics, made by one of my sponsors."

"I like a reactions game that you play against a wall and with different lights. You can do it with your hands or with your feet. It’s good for honing your skills. But there is nothing quite like being able to train on the pitch.”
