Frenkie de Jong receives the Johan Cruyff talent award

The blaugrana wins prize for best young Dutch footballer of the year

On Monday Frenkie de Jong received the Johan Cruyff talent of the year award in Hilversum, Holland. The prize dates back to 1984 and is given the most talented player in the top two Dutch divisions under the age of 21 years of age. The award was originally called the Dutch talent of the year award but the name was changed in 2003 to include the name of the Holland footballing legend. At the event several players with a blaugrana past such as Ronald Koeman, Edgar Davids, Patrick Kluivert as well as former coach Louis Van Gaal were all present. 

The Dutch midfielder succeeds previous winner and former team mate Matthijs de Ligt. Other former Barça winners of the award include Ibrahim Afellay, Mark Van Bommel and Patrick Kluivert.
