CD Alcoyano 2-3 FC Barcelona B: A win at last

Jutglà scores right at the end to secure the first win for the reserves in eight games

A win is always a great way to put smiles on faces. Barça B have broken an 8-game winless spell with victory at a tricky venue in which the three forwards, Peque, Abde and Jutglà all shone in collecting three points that do wonders for the team’s league position.

Alcoyano started very strongly, and despite not controlling the possession gave Arnau Tenas plenty to think about early on. Crosses into the area were causing the Barça B defence all kinds of bother, but nobody ,managed to connect until they took a half time lead from a corner.

Things were looking to good for the reserves thus far, but two quick goals from Peque and Abde suddenly turned the whole affair upside down.

But just when Barça B were finally on top not just on the scoreboard but also in terms of the football, Alcoyano bit back. At 2-2, the game became a fascinatingly intense battle, with neither side particularly on top.

It could have gone either way, or it could have ended all square, but there was Ferran Jutglà right at the end to bag the goal, the three points, and a very satisfying outcome for Sergi Barjuan and his team.
