17-year-old winger joins Barça B from Eintracht Frankfurt on a contract until 30 June 2024
FC Barcelona and Eintracht Frankfurt have reached an agreement on the transfer of Fabio Blanco to Barça B this January. The Spanish winger has signed a contract tying him the club until 30 June 2024, with the buyout clause set at 100 million euros.
Born 18 February 2004 in Almeria, Blanco joined the Valencia youth system at the age of 12 and last summer was traded to the Bundesliga club. A few months later, he is returning from Germany to work under the orders of Sergi Barjuan.
Right foot forward
Fabio Blanco is particularly admired for his ability to take on opponents. A natural dribbler, his preferred foot is the right although he can play on the left wing if required. He has played for Spain at youth level, where his team-mates in the 2004 generation have previously included Gavi and Ilias Akhomach.
He has played eight games this season for the Eintracht U19 side, totalling 691 minutes, two goals and one assist.
After passing a medical at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper and getting his first look at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, Blanco told the club media that “I am very proud to be forming part of this great club.”
