Spotify Camp Nou has been filled with joy and fesitivities in the past two weeks which marks the beginning of the Year of the Horse. It has now become one of the Club’s traditions each year to bring blessings and luck to our Culers all around the world, through a series of celebratory activities customised in a unique Barça style.

Before the kick-off of the Barça vs Levante game on Feb 22nd, the Penya Blaugrana Dracs Units (a group founded by the Chinese community in Catalonia) were once again the life and soul of the celebrations, but this time they were joined by CAT, bringing extra fun and laughters to the crowd which was comprised of not only Asian supporters, but also everyone around the world.

Music and dance are an integral part of Barça’s new year celebrations. A tasting of Chinese culinary specialities and a robot show gave way to traditional dragon and lion dances outside the stadium. Inside the stadium, the party continued with a DJ set kept the fans entertained at half-time, with Yuhong Meng, Consul General of China in Barcelona, enjoying the performances in the Presidential Box.

On the pitch, the men’s team took to the field wearing jerseys with their names printed in Chinese characters. The players were accompanied by children from the Penya Blaugrana Dracs Units. It’s all part of a a festive day celebrating the Year of the Horse, a symbol of strength, vitality and perseverance.

To Club is committed to bringing ourselves closer to our Culers on and off the pitch, other than the match day celebrations, there was a specially filmed video featuring Barça men’s and women’s first team players, together with mascot CAT, to spread out our new year blessings in Barça style. A range of dynamic digital promotions were also led by over 13 Club’s partners from Asia Pacific and around the world.
