Ronald Araujo 'Origins' documentary premiered

Produced by Barça Studios with Vanquish Media, and soon to be shown on Barça One, the documentary featuring the Uruguayan player gets its official premiere

Today saw Barça officially present the documentary 'Orígins'. Produced by Barça Studios in collaboration with Vanquish Media, it takes a deep dive into Ronald Araujo's life in his home town, Rivera. Over the course of 40 minutes, it shows the Uruguayan player's core principles from a family, personal and professional point of view, principles that have been with him on the journey to becoming an FC Barcelona men's football first team player.

The movie theatre Espai Texas was chosen for the documentary's premiere, which will soon become available via Barça One, the new free-of-charge OTT the Club is set to launch in April that will feature the best selection of blaugrana-based content. The event was attended by FC Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, who led a representation from the Board of Directors, along with first team coach Xavi Hernández, Ronald Araujo and his family, plus some of his teammates from the first team, who wanted to join him for the premiere.

Vanquish Media manage the player's image, content and sponsorships, and they were also in attendance, having brought their extensive experience in producing different audiovisual formats to the fore. Other FC Barcelona executives and staff were also there, along with some famous names.

The attendees walked down the red carpet before the documentary's premiere, subsequently settling down to learn about the more intimate and less familiar side of a player whose journey to FC Barcelona was tough and full of major challenges both for him and his family as he aimed to progress in life and football.

The presentation ended with first team player Raphinha surprising Ronald Araujo with a cake to mark his 25th birthday, which is tomorrow 7 March.

From Rivera to Barcelona

Viewers will be able to learn about the story of first team player, Ronald Araujo, starting at his birthplace Rivera, via the Uruguayan capital Montevideo, before finally achieving a goal that he hadn't even dreamed about given he was still a boy - arriving in Barcelona and becoming one of the world's best centre defenders.

The production will be the first exclusive content from Barça One, which will come online in the coming weeks. It is the natural and necessary evolution of Barça TV+ that brings to fruition the Club's commitment to create a leading project in the entertainment industry. Barça One will be a free service and advertisement-based, and will not require registration, but there will also be the option of paying to watch without advertising, something FC Barcelona members will get free of charge.
