Work in Avinguda Joan XXIII and the new promenade in preparation for Espai Barça have improved safety around the stadium

The transformation of the environs of the FC Barcelona premises in preparation for for Espai Barça project is continuing its course and after the work done this past summer in Avinguda de Joan XXIII. Urban mobility has been substantially improved by reorganising traffic flows and parking spaces for both cars and motorcycles. Barça members and fans who travel to Camp Nou on foot, by motorcycle or bicycle need to take certain factors into account that have made access to the stadium better and safer on match days. The actions especially affect motorcycle users, with new areas reserved for parking.

The improvements in mobility, which have a direct impact on the reorganisation of motorcycle parking around the stadium, are a consequence of the new pedestrian promenade that has added 150 metres to the old boulevard, widening the space with pavements to make things easier for pedestrians. A parking ban on motorcycles has been imposed on the area from Avinguda de Joan XXIII to Access 7, but bikes now have new areas to park in: Carrer Pascual i Vila between Pau Gargallo and Baldiri i Reixac, and Carrer Llorens i Artigas, between Adolf Florencia and Pascual i Vila (See map).

Bicycle users can now use the new 500-metre bike lane, 250 metres of which are already complete, while those connecting Arístides Maillol and Menéndez Pelayo are provisional until the next phase of the project.
