Urban art inspires Barça's new streetwear collection

‘Color Block’ includes versatile pieces that capture the Barça essence and add a vintage touch. Now available only at Barça Stores and the club's e-commerce services

FC Barcelona is continuing its bid to create streetwear and is now releasing its new 'Color Block' capsule. An innovative range designed for him, her and for children too, and which takes its inspiration from the fusion of forms and colours used in the Brooklyn urban art scene, combined with a retro touch, and all the time staying faithful to the Barça essence.

Senior team stars Oscar Mingueza and Ronald Araujo are the ambassadors for this new vintage-styled collection that draws on elements of the 1970s but brings them right up to date to create a comfortable but versatile range of garments that are not only good for sport, but are also casual enough to offer an ideal option for any informal occasion or meeting.

The new capsule collection is made up of a short-sleeved shirt, a choice of different sweatshirts including one with a front zipper, and another with a hood and kangaroo pocket. The comfortable, energetic joggers are another highlight of the collection.

'Color Block' has been crated with a pastel palette, all with a mod to the typical Barça shades, with the famous ‘blaugrana’ combined with the ivory of the shirts and sweatshirts. Meanwhile, the trousers produce contrast by applying the club colours in their purest form.

The name of the club naturally features too, taking a central role of the front of the upper garments.

100% Barça Collections

FC Barcelona is currently working on the creation of its own streetwear ranges to dress fans for their day-to-day. This is just one further step in its bid to enter the retail market by offering new lines of clothing in complement to its more traditional range of sports strips and training gear.

'Color Block’ follows hot on the heels of another collection, Tape, that was inspired by the aesthetics of British sport in the 1990s. The collection takes its name from the characteristic strips of tape that were so fashionable in that era and which feature in the different pieces, including sweatshirts and tracksuit bottoms, and bearing the FC Barcelona crest.
