FC Barcelona and Banco BMG have signed a new sponsorship deal whereby the latter, one of the leading banks in Brazil, becomes a regional partner of the club in the Brazilian market for three seasons, through to 30 June 2022. The deal makes Banco BMG Barça’s new partner in the Americas, a region managed directly from the club’s office in New York.
The partnership was officially announced in São Paulo. Xavier O’Callaghan, Managing Director of FC Barcelona’s New York Office, Juliano Belletti, former player and Barça Ambassador, Ricardo Guimarães, Chairman of Banco BMG’s Board of Directors, Márcio Alaor, vice president of Banco BMG, as well as Banco BMG representatives Marco Antonio Antunes and Ana Karina Dias attended the ceremony. During the event, Banco BMG executives were presented with the new 2019/20 FC Barcelona home shirt and with a canvas symbolising the alliance between both entities, created by artist Tulio Cerquize.
With this agreement Barça reinforces its position in one of its strategic markets, with an alliance that will bring the club closer to its fans in this territory. Furthermore, this partnership ties in with FC Barcelona’s strategy of seeking to find the best possible partners in each sponsorship category, in order to continue to be leaders not just on the pitch, but also in terms of sports sponsorship and marketing.
The deal has come about thanks to the values that the two parties share, such as respect, teamwork and high performance. It is on that premise that, for the next three years, FC Barcelona and Banco BMG will be working together to offer fans new digital and live experiences, such as holding a Watching Party at which supporters will be able to gather to see the team in action for a game this season.
