All Jordi Alba's goals for Barça

All Jordi Alba's goals for Barça

With the fullback having scored in back to back games with Spain, we take a look at the nine goals he's scored for Barça since returning to the Club in the summer of 2012

For Jordi Alba, the term ‘international break’ is a juxtaposition. That’s because FC Barcelona’s 28-year-old fullback, far from getting in a few days’ rest during this latest pause for national team fixtures, used the opportunity to showcase his goalscoring ability for a Spain team heading full steam ahead into the 2018 World Cup.

After scoring in back-to-back friendlies against Costa Rica and Russia, Alba now has eight national team goals to his name.

And while the Catalan defender had never scored for Spain in two straight games, he had previously accomplished the feat for Barça, finding the net in consecutive October 2012 games against Deportivo La Coruña and Celtic Glasgow. The first one —his first goal since signing with Barça that summer—was a minute three strike to open the scoring in a 5–4 La Liga win for Barça at Riazor on October 20. Then, back at Camp Nou three days later, Alba scored the game-winner in second half injury time to hand Barça a thrilling, 2–1 victory in UEFA Champions League Group D.

Now, in his sixth season with Barça, Alba has nine goals and will no doubt be looking for more when league play resumes this Saturday at Leganés.

Of the nine goals, he has scored four in La Liga, three in the Copa del Rey, and two in the Champions League.

And right here, right now, you can see all of them.
